About Our Administrator…Photo of Dr. Kraig Lofquist

With the close of the 2018-2019 school year, Dr. Kraig Lofquist will be ending his eighth year as the Chief Administrator of Educational Service Unit 9 (ESU 9). Dr. Lofquist has accepted the position of Executive Chief Officer of the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council (ESUCC) beginning July 1, 2019. Congratulations to Dr. Lofquist as he moves from ESU 9 to ESUCC! The ESU 9 staff and Board wish him well and thank him for his many accomplishments while serving as the administrator of ESU 9.

Beginning July 1, 2019, Mr. Drew Harris will become the Chief Administrator of ESU 9. The ESU 9 staff and Board welcome him to ESU 9. Drew comes to us from Thayer Central where he has served as superintendent for 13 years. Welcome Drew!

Drew Harris was born and raised in McPherson, KS. He started his education career as a high school mathematics teacher and coach in Clearwater, KS, in 1985, after receiving his Bachelor of Science from Pittsburg State University. His Master’s degree in Educational Administration and district-level certification are from Wichita State University. After accepting the high school principal’s position in Burrton, KS, in 1996, he was asked to take the superintendent’s role in that district in 1998. In 2006, he was selected as the superintendent at Thayer Central in Hebron, NE, where he and his wife Amy and their children (Cole, 23; Hank, 20; Maggie, 18) have enjoyed 13 years. He begins his duties at ESU 9 on July 1, 2019.
