Computer Science Academy (Day 1 of 3)

October 17, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Presenter – Heather Steiner, Lincoln Public Schools – Schoo Middle School
Computer Science Instructor/Instructional Coach

Are you looking to bring Computer Science (CS) into your classroom?  Sign-up for an engaging, hands-on experience that will show you a variety of tools and techniques you can use in your classroom to introduce your students to CS principles.  Whether your district already has a CS course or is looking to bring CS to their students, you will be leaving with materials, web resources, and programs you can add to your curriculum.

A majority of the resources shared are used within my middle school courses, however, some can be used in elementary and high school course.  I will share with you the elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum information from Lincoln Public Schools, recently named “Computer Science Champions” by CSTA and Code.org.

Do you have to be a computer teacher?  No way! Computer Science can be integrated into many subject areas.  All are welcome to join.

Microbits
Circuit Playgrounds
Ozobot Evo
