
HQIM Implementation Series (Day 3 of 3)

Overview
The ESU 9 Professional Learning team will provide a comprehensive three-day series aimed at providing essential instructional material implementation support to school districts that have recently adopted new HQIM ELA materials. The series will emphasize the crucial systems-level conditions required for successful implementation, based on The Elements: Transforming Teaching through Curriculum-Based Professional Learning (Short & Hirsh, 2020). We encourage the attendance of leaders and teachers throughout the series.
September 7
Overview of the elements, with a specific focus on curriculum aspects such as pacing, standards alignment, and effective instructional strategies. Participants will benefit from collaborating with other districts that have selected the same HQIM, including Into Reading, Into Literature, CKLA, MyPerspectives, and Wit and Wisdom.
November 14
Teachers and leaders will dive into essential elements such as leadership, resources, coherence, transformative learning, and equity. Participants will engage in collaborative analysis of student work, leveraging shared experiences and learning insights.
January 25
The conclusion of the series will include a comprehensive evaluation of progress, incorporating further reflection and feedback to refine implementation strategies.
Substitute Reimbursement is available for teachers from Title II-A consortium member districts (Adams Central, Blue Hill, Doniphan-Trumbull, Giltner, Hampton, Kenesaw, Red Cloud, Silver Lake and Sutton
