Central Western Nebraska Partnership (CWNP)
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Mentors are adult role models who work with students, families, and professionals in the CWNP Region. They are available to work with students one-on-one, or in groups either in person or through Zoom. They can work with students on sign language development, social skills, self-advocacy, self-identity, strengthen language acquisition, provide additional communication opportunities, provide information about Deaf Culture and the Deaf Community, as well as share their own life experiences.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Mentors working with families and professionals can provide sign language classes, sign language dialogue, and provide feedback to interpreters striving to meet Rule 51 guidelines. They are available to answer questions parents might have about their child's needs and future.
